10. May 2018 – Grenoble Alpes University's technical teams wanted to be able to instrument and control various devices quickly, cost-effectively and without cabling (Ethernet and power). The Grenoble Hospital asked Adeunis and ARC Informatique how best to solve this operational challenge.

In addition, the hospital expressed a desire to do so with existing BMS software without adding additional software layers. PcVue Supervision published by ARC Informatique, the BMS is responsible for managing two of the sites of the hospital, the GTB and the GTE website.

The first step of this project consisted of a LoRaWAN radio coverage study of the site. This study, conducted by the Adeunis team and experts in the field, has enabled the best location of the LoRa antenna to be determined to ensure that the zones (floors, buildings, parking lots, etc.) are properly covered to enable the desired positioning of the Adeunis IoT sensors

The LoRaWAN architecture makes it possible to build a private network, especially indoors and indoors, using the radio coverage of the LoRaWan long range network. In fact, only one antenna at the top of a building (15th floor) can cover almost all buildings on the site, but can also reach a second location about 6 km away. The cost of the network infrastructure is therefore very low compared to a WiFi solution.

Following the preparation and installation of the LoRaWAN infrastructure by the Adeunis team, the Adeunis® "PULSE" IoT sensors were installed to measure water meter readings at numerous Grenoble University Hospital remote sites. Other sensors detect temperature drift in sensitive areas such as drug storage areas.

The integration of the LoRaWan network into the heart of the GTB PcVue solution enables feedback from sensors used in existing BMS monitoring. The sensor's "raw" data (temperature, on / off) is enhanced by the power of PcVue to enrich and handle that data, including thresholds, alarms, facial expressions, waveforms, and archiving.

Integrating IoT Device Maintenance Data is also implemented by monitoring the remaining battery life of sensors and the sensor position in the building.

This project thus offers the operator considerable savings in both the commissioning and the operation of the hospital facilities. In addition, the installation of the LoRaWAN infrastructure enables the development of many new services through additional sensors integrated into the data processing capabilities of PcVue.

In summary, these GTB hybrid solutions can be used to control both standard automation devices and simplified instrumentation. Adeunis IoT technologies are clearly part of a modern and innovative approach.
