  Balluff initiates incremental encoder system BML SF2

6. July 2018 – Balluff's BML SF2 system provides system accuracy of 12 microns with gap spacing up to 1.0mm and a maximum working gap of 1.8mm. The BML SF2 system is a linear position feedback solution for demanding applications such as cutting and forming machines, X-Y positioning and direct feedback from electric drives.

The BML SF2 incremental encoder system is available with industry-standard A / B / Z quadrature or analog sine / cosine interfaces and is available in operating lengths of up to 48 meters. The magnetic tape can be ordered in large quantities and cut to length according to the application requirements. Other features of the BML SF2 Linear Encoder System include:

  • Enclosed Metal Sensor Enclosures
  • Sensor head integrated status LED to indicate status during installation, commissioning and normal operation
  • Non-contact effect for wear-free operation
