EPLAN Announces Cloud Solution Store Share View

6. July 2018 – EPLAN Software & Service GmbH announces the offer of Store Share View. This Microsoft Azure-based in-house solution is a service that brings EPLAN projects to the cloud. Bring data to the cloud and, for example, enable scenarios for collaboration. It also provides the foundation for future cloud-to-cloud connectivity.

The new integration with the EPLAN Cloud is available as of version 2.8. Designers can make the schematic project available in the cloud from the platform for downstream business processes.

At the Hanover Fair, EPLAN presented the part of the Store Share View, in which projects can be viewed, reviewed and commented on via redlining workflow. From this point of departure, EPLAN accompanies its customers on their way to the cloud. Users have a central data source that makes EPLAN data available to all project participants (also for downstream processes). Access to the data is universal: from any terminal, from any location and independent of an EPLAN installation.

The name Store Share View already describes the path of their customers into the cloud: EPLAN projects can be stored in the cloud (store) and are available to all project participants (share) in order to be able to view them at any time. It does not require installation – not even the traditional viewer installation that was needed previously. All you need to do is log in, view the project, make comments with the redlining feature, and mark the work progress. The system is designed so that all necessary EPLAN project information is available in the cloud as a central source of information. Engineering knowledge remains protected from unauthorized access by managing accessibility. The assignment of rights itself lies with the respective department of the customer

With Store Share View – the first step of the EPLAN cloud concept – external participants can also access the data if they are assigned access rights. The collaboration infrastructure is available through the cloud, and a department no longer has to go through a complex project handover process. Subcontractors can simply use a web browser to read the current project status. Another practical advantage: Only current data is available and changes are documented via a managed redlining workflow.
