31. October 2018 - Fluid Components International (FCI) now offers thermal mass flowmeters with the HART protocol and other communication options designed for a wide range of industries and applications.
FCI's ST51, ST75, ST98, ST100, MT100 and MT100 thermal mass flowmeters, including 12 models, are available as a solution with HART communication. Measurement of air or gases in process and plant applications.

The Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) protocol provides FCI users of thermal flowmeters with a standard global communication protocol that enables bidirectional digital communication between intelligent field devices and host systems without disrupting the analog 4-20 mA signal. HART communication enables remote access to process variables, cyclic access to process data, parameterization and diagnostics.
In addition to HART bus communication, the FCI thermal mass flowmeters have standard 4-20 mA outputs that comply with NAMUR NE43 and have a 500 Hz pulse. The electronics are housed in an IP67 rated transmitter with two cables and connectors, available in aluminum or a new stainless steel version. The transmitter can be mounted directly on the flow sensor or at a distance of up to 30 meters.
FCI heat flow meters have regulatory approvals from FM, FMC / CSA, ATEX, IECEx, EAC, NEPSI, Inmetro, and industry-specific or country-specific pedigrees such as SIL (IEC 61508), CRN, PED, QAL 1, and CEMS.
Your thermal mass flow sensor elements feature precision and platinum resistance thermometers made of fully welded 316L stainless steel and Hastelloy C tips. They are direct mass flowmeters and do not require additional temperature or pressure sensors or flow computers to account for the mass flow of process media.
