  Honeywell supports Chinese chemical company in improving production capacity

29. May 2018 – Honeywell announced that Shandong Tianhong Chemical Co., Ltd. Honeywell UOP's Oleflex Propane Dehydration 3 ) produces 250,000 tons of propylene per year at its Dongying plant in Shandong Province, China.

Honeywell will be licensing, the process design package, proprietary and non-proprietary equipment, on-site training, technical services for commissioning and ongoing operations, as well as key catalysts and adsorbents for the project.

Honeywell UOP's 3 Oleflex technology uses catalytic dehydrogenation to convert propane to propylene. Its energy consumption, emissions and fully recyclable platinum-alumina based catalyst system are designed to minimize its impact on the environment.

Honeywell UOP also appoints C 4 Oleflex technology that converts butanes to butylenes, the main ingredient in the production of high-octane fuel additives and synthetic rubber. With this project, Honeywell UOP's Oleflex technology has been selected since 2011 for 52 out of 64 propane and isobutane dehydrogenation projects worldwide.

Shandong Tianhong Chemical Co., Ltd. manufactures specialized chemical products, including methyl methacrylate (MMA). As a subsidiary of the China Wanda Group, Shandong Tianhong Chemical markets its products for the tire, acrylonitrile, chemical and carbon black industries. About Honeywell
