Indegy Helps City of Raleigh Win CSO50 Public Utility Security Project

31. October 2018 - Indegy announces that the City of Raleigh has been awarded IDG's CSO at the prestigious CSO50 Awards in 2019. The annual CSO50 awards recognize a select group of security projects that have outstanding business value and leadership. The city of Raleigh was selected to implement the Indegy Industrial Cyber Security Suite to protect its operating system (OT) and industrial control system (ICS) operating system from cyber threats, insider attacks and human error.

The City of Raleigh will be honored at a special awards dinner on April 10 as part of the CSO50 Conference + Awards at Talking Stick Resort, Scottsdale, Arizona. A complete list of the winners of the CSO50 Award is available online at: https://bit.ly/2za5PCv.

"We are honored that our project has been awarded a CSO50 prize. Raleigh is one of the fastest growing regions in the country. Ensuring the availability and security of our water supply and other utilities is a constantly evolving challenge, "said Steve Worley, SCADA Security Manager, Raleigh City. "We chose the Indegy platform because it has the unique ability to monitor, proactively identify and alert our employees to changes in our industrial control systems that could affect their integrity and proper operation."

Raleigh City Council is committed to building a safer, safer and more resilient critical infrastructure for its constituency. The city worked with Indegy to implement an industrial security solution that provides visibility, protection and control to detect and prevent threats before they impact the operation and security of its water supply systems and utilities. They needed a solution that could grow and adapt to their dynamic needs. These include the provision of drinking water, wastewater and water treatment services to the town and communities of Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon.

"Urban water supply is one of the most important infrastructures in the country, but the visibility and control of the security of the industrial systems they operate with is often very poor or absent," said Barak Perelman, CEO of Indegy , "The City of Raleigh will be honored with this CSO50 prize for leadership and innovation in protecting the water supply and other utilities from external and internal threats. Steve Worley and his team are breaking new ground for protecting critical infrastructures that other water and municipal utilities can follow.

With Indegy, the city's small workforce can now centrally monitor all water and utility infrastructure activities, as well as configuration and software changes made to individual industrial control devices. Alerts are automatically generated when suspicious, unexpected, or policy violations occur. Indegy also provides internal change monitoring capabilities to help restore equipment to good condition in the event of an incident.

"This year's CSO50 award-winning class raises the bar for safety innovation," said Amy Bennett, editor-in-chief of CSO. "While providing business value and demonstrating leadership are the metrics they measure, the greater value in peer-to-peer sharing of ideas across a range of industries, across enterprise sizes, is profit-driven and not for businesses , Profit, public and private. The magic actually takes place on the stage of the CSO50 conference, when these projects are brought to life in presentations and panel discussions. It is an honor to give them the recognition they deserve. "
