The MXT2912TD-A with nearly 3,000 touch-sensitive nodes and more MXT2113TD-A Supported as 2,000 nodes, provide the user with a touchscreen user experience. These devices build on Microchip's existing maXTouch touchscreen technology used by manufacturers worldwide. Microchip's latest solutions provide a thick-lensed signal-to-noise feature that supports multiple finger touches through thick gloves and in the presence of moisture.

The MXT2912TD and MXT2113TD devices have self-diagnostic and sensor diagnostic features that support the features of the device. Constantly monitor the integrity of the touch system. These intelligent diagnostics support the Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) according to the functional safety specification for passenger cars according to ISO 26262.

The devices have technology that allows adaptive contact with self-capacitance and counter-capacitance measurements. All touch is detected and wrong Touch IDs are avoided. They also feature Microchip's signal-shaping technology, which reduces emissions to help large-scale touchscreens that meet the CISPR-25 Level 5 requirements for automotive electromagnetic interference with maXTouch controllers. The touch controllers also meet temperature ranges 3 (-40 to + 85 ° C) and Grade 2 (-40 to + 105 ° C) and are AEC-Q100 certified.

With the addition of the maXTouch touchscreen controller, Microchip provides customers with full scalability and a complete portfolio of touch screen controllers for the automotive industry for the use of various screen sizes. Developers can design multiple platforms from small touchpads to large displays in the same development environment with the same host software interface and high quality user experience.

Eight dedicated design and sensor design centers around the world are helping Microchip customers and partners accelerate the process by bringing their maXTouch technology to market. Microchip's maXTouch technology specialists work with all major manufacturers of sensors, displays and touch modules.

An evaluation kit is available for each of the parts of the new maXTouch touchscreen controller family. The kit includes a printed circuit board (PCB) with the maXTouch touchscreen controller, a touch sensor on a clear glass lens, the flat printed circuit board (FPC) to connect to the touch panel, a converter board to connect the kit to the host computer via USB, and cables, software and documentation. All parts are also compatible with maXTouch Studio, a complete software development environment that supports the evaluation of maXTouch touch screen controllers.

The MXT2912TD-A and MXT2113TD-A units are now available in sampling and volume quantities in LQFP176 and LQFP144 housings
