Pickering Interfaces Introduces Version 6 of Switch Path Manager Signal Routing Software

25. May 2018 – Pickering Interfaces, the provider of modular signal switching and simulation solutions for electronic testing and verification, introduces version 6 of its signal routing software, Switch Path Manager (SPM), with a number of features and a "Lite" version. This signal routing software simplifies signal routing through complex switching systems and speeds the development of switching system software. The latest release, Switch Path Manager 6, provides two important updates:

  • The software evaluation period is now 14 days, but the time is based on the number of days that the software is actually used, not a fixed period of time ; Users can now fully evaluate the software according to their schedule.
  • The addition to Switch Path Manager Lite, a solution that is fully functional but has a functional limitation of two active switch modules in the configuration. Larger configurations with more than two modules can be created, loaded and edited – but not executed. Unlike the SPM full license, SPM Lite is not connected to a dedicated computer, after purchase it can be used as a site license.

In addition to the major updates above, there are a number of functions, including: 19659003] An advanced System Configurator editor that allows the user to perform standard functions such as copy, paste, delete, seek, replace, and manipulate cells. It also offers filtering technology to filter dedicated pins, and it has now added display options so that the user can decide what is displayed in the configurator.

  • Introduction of multipoint routes – in the past, when a user wanted to create fixed routes for multipoints (eg A connect to B & C), two separate routes (AB, BC) had to be created and grouped together – this is now possible in one step.
  • An API function has been added: IsConnectedStatus (endpoint A, endpoint B). With a simple function call, a user can find out if certain endpoints have been connected by SPM. This functionality is important if a route uses multiple relays and multiple endpoints are connected to each other on the route that a user thinks about. Example: A and B were connected, but C is on the route and also connected. It is not obvious that the user would know the route ACB if you do not call IsConnectedStatus ()
