Rockwell Automation announces a new version of the distributed PlantPAx control system

13. June 2018 – Rockwell Automation announces the latest version of the PlantPAx Control System (DCS). System features include a design and the ability to see contextualized asset asset information.

This system version uses base technologies to eliminate a complexity barrier for small to mid-sized businesses that want to implement a DCS. By consolidating servers into a single machine, applications can implement the full functionality of a modern DCS.

The modern DCS also has an extended library that supports electrical protection devices using the EtherNet / IP and IEC 61850 standards. The combination of electrical functions with the control extends the plant-wide integration and leads to better plant control.

The system has an extended library of process objects to handle alarms and abnormal situations. The library also includes Historian templates to optimize the display of event information with real-time and historical data.

With the PlantPAx DCS, users can now define access rights by role and by area and provide security through authentication and access privileges. System Sharing Also Extends Network Availability for I / O Communications
