  The Open Group announces Open Group in Houston 2018

28. June 2018 – The Open Group, the multi-vendor technology standard consortium, is hosting its upcoming event in Houston, July 23-26, 2018. The Open The Houston 2018 Group – Digital Transformation in the Energy Industry – will bring together providers and end-user organizations to develop to discuss a standards-based and interoperable architecture with a special focus on technical and business issues related to process automation.

The Open Group The vision of the Open Process Automation Forum is a standards-based, open, secure and interoperable process control architecture. The event will explore how this can be achieved by developing, publishing and developing a realistic open architecture and specifications that are supported by end-users, suppliers and industry integrators.

There will be an opportunity to meet with experts and users from around the world at the Internet of Things Workshop (IoT), Wednesday, July 25. This workshop will explore a practical intelligent solution to the problem of waste collection using the Open Group Open Platform 3.0 standards and methods and discuss how these techniques could be extended to a wide range of applications.

Members can also learn about the use of Open FAIR concepts and the spreadsheet risk analysis tool developed by The Open Group to process control risk scenarios during process risk analysis. Control: Facilitated Workshop, Wednesday, July 25.
